The Veritas duo work with the attorneys at Masferrer & Riley on the firm’s criminal and immigration cases. Composed of Mitigation Specialist, Melissa Bustillo and Private Investigator, Cindy Bosque, they work collaboratively with the attorneys to support a client’s defense behind the scenes. Melissa works on both immigration and criminal cases providing background information on a client and support services that will help clients connect with needed resources and diversion programs. Cindy works on criminal cases looking into the facts of a case and following up on information to add to the attorney’s defense strategies. 

Among the acquired experience both have is an understanding of the legal system and its barriers as well as the social justice lens to navigate said barriers. In addition to that, they have their unique background of a bilingual and bicultural upbringing which adds yet another layer into the work that they produce. Taking all of this into consideration, Melissa and Cindy are able to blow the smoke from the mirrors to help all clients, especially those from underserved communities, to see a clearer picture. This individualized approach provides a stronger case for the defense and reintroduces the communities we serve to the legal system with all its twists and turns demystified.
